New Mission President

This was an extremely sacred week. Sister Hansen and I had some experiences this week that have been seared into my soul by the Holy Ghost. I know it was because of preparation, obedience, and sacrifice. If we prepare ourselves to receive revelation, we will receive it. Heavenly Father is real. He really is the Father of our Spirits. He wants to communicate with us and we can communicate with Him through prayer. Jesus is the Christ and is the Only Begotten of the Father. He is our Savior and Redeemer. This is His Church. It is true. It just is. Because it is built upon His Gospel and is run by His authority. These are absolute truths that are not swayed by opinions of men. Truth is truth. And this is it.

I LOVE President and Sister Clayton! So much. I know they are called by God to be here at this time. They are incredibly excited to be here. I love them :) We had MLC this week on Wednesday and guess where it was... THE MISSION HOME! We've had it at the Brampton Stake Center ever since sister training leaders have been called because it would give us more room to accommodate the increased number of people, but the Clayton's wanted to try it in the mission home and it was absolutely wonderful. There is a special spirit in the mission home. I love being in Christ centered homes! There truly is a difference. It's true that the home and the temple are the most sacred places on earth. President Clayton started off the meeting and I felt the Spirit instantly. We sang "Come, Come Ye Saints" for the opening song, and he teared up a little as he explained his special connection with that song. His great great grandfather wrote it! How great is that?! As President Clayton bore his testimony the Spirit bore witness to my heart that he truly is called of God. Then Sister Clayton got up and gave an incredible instruction on our purpose. She is 5'10'' and has short gray hair and is so pumped to be a missionary! She wanted to serve a mission when she was younger, but then she met President Clayton and they got married with the condition that he would take her on a mission later :) She's wonderful! Before MLC started and we were eating breakfast, she and I had an opportunity to talk one on one and we bonded instantly. An added bonus is that she has family in Cache Valley! This MLC was a sacred moment. A holy place in time. We had some significant spiritual experiences that I will never, ever forget. The Church is true. There is no doubt in my mind about that. This is the Lord's work. There is no other option.

On Tuesday (CANADA DAY!) I went on an exchange with a sister from London, England. Her family moved to Canada a few years before her mission, so she's also Canadian, but people get confused when she tells them she's from Canada because she had a SWEET English accent. It was her very first exchange, so she was a little nervous, but her nerves dissolved once we started talking and she felt more comfortable. Honestly, it was one of my favorite exchanges I've ever been on! We had so much fun and worked so hard! I loved every second of it. There was one point during the day when we were meeting with a lady and there was a full blown parade for Canada Day going by outside! Hahaha. Good times!

After District Meeting this week there was a sister that asked for a blessing, so we stayed for that. After her blessing, another sister asked for a blessing and that just started a chain effect of priesthood blessings. There were 7 priesthood blessings given. Our district leader, his companion, our two zone leaders, and one of the assistants were the one giving the blessings, and some of them even received blessings. The spirit was tangible in that room. That was another one of those holy places in time. It strengthened my testimony of the Priesthood because each blessing was so unique and tailored to the needs of the recipient. They were blessings directly from our Heavenly Father. I'm grateful for the Priesthood and worthy holders of it. If you've been thinking of receiving a blessing or if you haven't had one in a while, ask for one. I promise you'll learn something about yourself that you need to change or do to come closer to your Father in Heaven.

One more experience :) Last night we got a call from a lady that lives in our apartment building, her name is Sharon. She calls herself our "non-mormon mom" and we love her! She loves to bake, so when she does she calls us and we go up a flight of stairs and she gives us some of whatever she made that day! Last night when we went up, we asked if we could sing her a song. So we sang "Nearer, My God to Thee" to the beat of the girls camp cup game and she loved it! Seeds are being planted everyday. Each experience softens hearts and brightens their day.

Have a great week! It's that last week of the transfer, so I'll let you know the news next week! Until then, keep smiling!

Love and Prayers, Sister Felix

Through the Holy Ghost the truth is woven into the very fibre and sinews of the body so that it cannot be forgotten." -Joseph Fielding Smith
